And Another Thing….

I have been reading a lot lately, but thanks to a new job, I just haven’t had the time to post them. After spending 8-9 hrs a day typing and working on a computer, sometimes I would rather come home and read a book or watch TV then to spend more time on the computer, but not always :-). So I am finally playing catch up!

My best friend in the whole wide world sent me And Another Thing… on CD, which was GREAT, because I could listen to it on the way to and from work. It took me a little longer to finish it but after HOURS and DAYS (maybe a month) I finally finished!!

My friend gave it to me over Thanksgiving while I was home because she knew I would love it. It is the latest (or final…not really sure yet) installment of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy “trilogy” book 6. (hahaha). My mum actually bough me The Complete Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy about 5-6 years ago. She said “You will love it” and I did. I cracked up from the first page to the last! I would call up my best friend and read her quotes and sections of the book and by the time I was done, she had to have it to.

And Another Thing… is written by Eoin Colfer, so when she said here read this, I was a little nervous. Since it wasn’t written by the genius Douglas Adams, I feared it wouldn’t be as good. And to be honest it wasn’t as good, but it wasn’t as bad as I fears. I did crack up as much, but Eoin Colfer worked hard to get into Adams mind and write the characters.

And Another Thing… picks up right where Mostly Harmless ended (HARMLESS, HARMLESS cried Arthur, “well I updated it” “to what” “Mostly Harmless” “MOSTLY HARMLESS”)

Side Note: I love how all of the book titles come from quotes the first book. Mostly Harmless, So Long and Thanks for All the Fish (that one has always cracked me up. I like dolphins)

Anyway, back to the plot – the book starts off with Arthur, Ford, Trillian & Random standing in Club Beta on an alternative Earth which is again about to be destroyed by the Vogon (because it seems the that is all the Vogon strive for in life). However right before this occurs, Zaphod appears (yet again) in the Heart of Gold to rescue them. Since Ford & Arthur had last seen Zaphod, he had somehow separated his two heads, and now Left Brain (or LB) from the Left Head is hooked up to the Heart of Gold, and is for some bizarre reason, rather intelligent.

But before they can make their escape in the heart of Cold, Ford accidentally freezes LB and they are trapped. Lucky for them Wowbagger, and immortal that has traveled around the universe insulting people saves them and takes them to Nano in exchange for Zaphod finding a way to kill. Back in the old days Zaphod had actually taken a colony of Earthlings over to Nano and they had created a new society.

On the way to Nano, Zaphod take off to strike a deal with Thor and Wowbagger falls in love with Trillion. Once on Nano, Zaphod convinces Hillman Hunter to make Thor their new God. Right before Wowbagger and Thor start go throw blows at each other, Wowbagger decided that he doesn’t want to die, because he is in love. But it is too late and the battle was on.

And in the mist of it all the Vogons have hunted Nano down on their mission to destroy all Earthings….

And I will stop there.

Saga of Seven Suns – The Conclusion!

I just finished the final book of Saga of Seven Suns. When you read series books it is always a hit or miss. Or at least for me it is like that. Sometimes they are great and you cannot wait to pick up the next one, or they are horrible and you just feel the obligation to finish it. Sometimes the series just gets old…much like the Anita Blake series did after something like book number 15 or so. Saga of Seven Suns is nothing like that. The series is amazing. It is a scifi series based in the future when the human race has expanded their power into the Spiral Arm which is part of the Milky Way. The human race has since evolved into 3 main groups. The Terran Hanseatic League aka the Hansa, which is run by an evil, manipulative Chairman named Basil Wenceslas, The Roamers who clans of families (gypsies) who roam around the spiral arm and have created their own government, and the Theroc who live on a the plant of Worldtrees and is the home planet of the “green priests” who have the ability to communicate to one another through the trees. I have been reading this series for about 6-7 months and have written a few other blogs about it already. So this blog is not a re-cap of all 7 books, just a review on my conclusion. The Saga of Seven Suns Continues

These blogs just look at the first 3-4 books, it was then that I just went through them so quickly and so much was going on that I decided just to wait until I had finished it to continue writing.

First, or Second, not really sure what, I want to say that this series was AMAZING! I couldn’t wait to start reading it again, I wish I could have just wasted a weekend reading cover to cover, but unfortunately I don’t seem to find the “free” days to do that anymore. These books made me laugh, cry, want to scream, you name it. It pulled every emotion that I had. I got angry and happy and sad. The last half of the last book had me sitting on the edge of my seat so to speak. So many twists and turns!
If you enjoy reading, and you like Sci-Fi, this series should be on your list. Heck, even if you are not a big fan of Sci-Fi, you should still read it. If you like love stories, there is a love story in here. If you like war stories, there is a war in here. If you like action, there is action in here. If you like mystery, there is mystery in here. You name it, you can find it!

I have recommended this to all of my friends that are as passionate about reading as I am, to pick this series up. And they will because I recommended The Tale of the Otori (another amazing trilogy!!!) too them and they both loved it.

So overall, I would not only rate on of the books with 8 out of 10 stars, but the whole series!!!

Avatar - The Movie

I have been waiting to see Avatar since I saw the first preview MONTHS ago. Although not as obsessive as my Father, I have been following the movie.

Avatar has been breaking so very interesting records. With an original budget of $230 million, some sources are saying that it has cost closer to ½ a billion dollars to make and promote the movie worldwide. This would make Avatar one of the most expensive movies ever made…if not the most. So now it is a rush to make the money back and to do this Avatar has to bring in Titanic numbers. Titanic is currently the top grossing movie in history, released in 1997, Titanic, brought in over $1.8 billion (The Lord of The Rings: The Return of the King in second at just $1.1 billion). With James Cameron having directed both, it would not unbelievable to see Avatar overtake Titanic. Avatar was released on Dec 18th and brought in $212 million in just the first weekend. As of today it is estimated that Avatar has brought in an astounding $352 million.

Side note: to view this movie in 3D there is an additional $3.50 fee (maybe more or less in some places) for each ticket, which is definitely playing a huge role in the earning that Avatar is seeing.

Avatar has actually been in development since 1994 and was originally supposed to be released soon after Titanic in 1999, but according to James Cameron, the technology needed to catch-up and boy was he right! The Script, Na’vi language and the entire culture of the Na’vi people and the moon Pandora was created by Cameron.

The Avatar story is set in 2154 on the moon Pandora. Humans have come to Pandora to mine a rare and precious mineral, however there is already a indigenous race on Pandora known as the Na’vi, and the Na’vi’s main home (known as Hometree) is located over the largest deposit of the precious mineral that the Humans are there to mine. And like we, the humans, have always done, we threaten the Na’vi to get them to move so we can get what we want.

The story is told to us through the eyes of Jake Sully (played by Same Worthington), who is a former Marine who is stuck in a wheelchair. Jake gets the opportunity to travel 6 years to the human outpost on Pandora because his twin brother (Tom Sully, a famous Ph.D scientist) was killed just days before he was suppose to go. The investors chose Jake because his DNA is similar to his brothers and will thus allow him to be the human driver to the Avatar. The Avatars were genetically engineered by combining human and Na’vi DNA. The Avatars look very similar to the Na’vi, except for a few minor differences (including having 5 toes and fingers instead of 4). The goal of the Avatars is to live among the Na’vi and gain their trust so that they can negotiate the relocation of the entire population so that the Humans can mine for the area for the rare mineral. Jake works alongside Dr. Grace Augustine (played by Sigourney Weaver) and Norm Spellman (played by Joel Moore). Dr. Augustine is the founder of the Avatar program and both she and Norm spend years preparing for the opportunity to link with their Avatar. Neither of them are originally pleased to have Jake instead of his brother, Tom.

Once linked to his Avatar, Jake can once again walk, something that he has missed for years. Since Jake is a former Marine, he is given the mission from Colonel Miles Quaritch (played by Stephen Lang) to infiltrate the Na’vi and learn how to take them down from the inside. At first Jake is fine with this mission, but while linked to his Avatar he falls in love with a beautiful Na’vi woman known as Neytiri (played by Zoe Saldana). Naytiri, under the orders of her mother (the clan physic) and father (the leader of the clan) takes Jake under her wings and teaches Jake the way of the Na’vi. He has to past many test to become accepted by the Na’vi and a warrior among them. Jake is not accepted by everyone, mostly Tsu’tey (played by Laz Alonso) who is to become the next clan leader and is to wed Neytiri.

As Jake learns more about the Na’vi and their respect for Eyra and all creatures (trees and animals) he begins to question his original mission. He begins to lose himself and would rather be in his Avatar instead of as himself, stuck in the wheelchair and away for Neytiri. Jake passes his final test by bonding with a Banshee and Neytiri takes to the tree of souls (a scared place to the Na’vi) where they join as man and woman.

The next morning the battle begins as the Humans bulldoze over the tree of souls.

I will leave the story there and leave you wandering what happens to Jake Sully and the Na’vi people.

Some people claim that this movie has a confusing story, or not a good plot, I personally think those people are just being negative and trying to find something wrong with this movie. The story is easy to follow as long as you are over the age of 15.

Side note: This movie does contain a number of cuss words and may not be suitable for those under the age of 13/14. My sister in 14 and she didn’t completely follow the story, but she got the main plot. Plus it may not be worth paying $13+ for kids who are not going to follow the story and not sit quietly for almost 3 hrs. Yes it is a beautiful movie worth everyone seeing, but it’s not worth spending that kind of money for kids to be completely lost and just enjoy the “cool” imaginary. Go take them to see Alvin and the Chipmunks, it is cheaper and they would probably prefer to see that one instead...and it wouldn't cost you $13+ a head.

I think this is one of the best movies I have ever seen. I did go see Sherlock Holmes a few days earlier and although that was a good movie, there is no question which is better and if you have to pick one to see. GO SEE AVATAR!

James Cameron has stated that if Avatar is successful; two sequels to the film are planned.

District 9

Since my family was in town this weekend, we went to go see a few movies. One chick flick and one action movie. Yesterday we went to go see District 9. My dad and I are both really into SciFi and we both like movies. I had been asking my boyfriend if we could go see this movie for about a month and I kept asking him when he was going to take me to the movies and I kept getting “I don’t know,” so I decided…I should go with my family. My dad really wants to see it and so do I, and if I end up waiting for my boyfriend to take me to go see it…I may never go! And I am SO glad that I went to see it! It was great! One of the best movies I have seen in a long time. I guess if you are not into SciFi or the Alien thing or anything like that….then you may not like this movie.

District 9 is actually done in a documentary style (which gives me hope for World War Z which is THE BEST ZOMBIE BOOK that they are turning into a movie because that is also a documentary!). The story opens in Johannesburg, South Africa. And alien ship comes to earth about 20 years ago in a “mother ship,” and it sits and hovers above Johannesburg for months without making contact. So eventually the governments get sick of this and they decided to initiate contact and they cut into the ship and discover a massive number of sick and malnourished aliens living in the ship. It seems that the leaders either died or left them, so humans take it upon themselves to bring the aliens to earth, and put them into refugee camps. The refugee camp becomes known as District 9 is is gated off and it turns into a ghetto because of the over population. The humans (because we are such a great and caring species) eventually turn to hating the aliens and we (the humans) start to refer to the aliens as “Prawns” in a derogatory way, because of they way the seem to be bottom feeders and live off the government.

A huge black market opens up inside District 9, because as like in every ghetto, there are guns, violence and Drugs. The Drug of choice for the Aliens is actually cat food. A group of Nigerians lead by a slightly crazy man named Mumbo run this black market making money by exchanging cat food for alien weapons. The only down side is that the weapons have been made to only integrate with the aliens. Mumbo and his gang use all types of rituals to attempt to find a way to use the alien weapons including eating the aliens.

Because of all the problems with District 9 the population of Johannesburg and the rest of the world turn against the “Prawns” they start to hate them, much like the KKK do towards African Americans, or the Germans to the Jews. (Sick Really). The government decided it is time to relocate the aliens.

A company, known as MNU (Mulit-National United) take it upon themselves to relocate the 1.5 (or so) million aliens to a new refugee camp known as District 10 which was located outside of Johannesburg. MNU also has another agenda at hand, they are actually in fact one of the largest weapons manufacturing company in the world and they would love to get their hands on the knowledge of who to USE the alien technology/weapons. They have to go into District 9 and tell all the alien residence that they are getting evicted.

MNU selects a man named Wikus van der Merwe (an unknown actor named Sharlto Copley). He sets out to inspect all the alien residence and tell them they are to be evicted. While he is in District 9 he comes across an alien container that shots some odd liquid into his face making him EXTREAMLY sick and starts a strange, rapid transformation which turns Wikus’s arm into a mutated alien claw. Because his DNA has found a way to bound with the aliens MNU finds this extremely interesting and kidnap him for experimental testing and they force him to operate the alien weapons. They decide that they need to actually dissect him so they can find out WHY he bonded with the aliens DNA. Wilkus of course doesn’t, obviously, wan to be cut into and he escapes MNU and flees to the only place he can hid…District 9. A huge man hunt starts in search of Wilkus while he searchers for a why to get rid of his alien DNA, become human again and return to his wife and happy home.

Of course this is only about the first 1/4th of the movie. The plot thickens and it really keeps you on the edge of your seat. I am not going to tell you anymore, because I think that this is a great movie and everyone should go to see it!!!

I think one of the things I really loved about this movie was that it was JUST as good if not better then hundreds of Hollywood movies that they make for 100million + dollars yet this was made with a budge of 30 million and they used unknown actors (who all did a fabulous job!!) and they shot it on location in Johannesburg, South Africa. I think they did a great job with this movie. I am curious what they are going to do, because although it ended….they also left it open in a way…so I would like to see what they do. And if they do make a sequel, I do not want them to go all big Hollywood bang…I would want the same thing…again!

This movie I would rate 8 ½ out of 10 stars. And it is one of the TOP movies of the summer….maybe the best I have seen all summer. I wish I could have seen it with my boyfriend, and if he would like to take me again to see it, I would for sure be down with that. BUT I am glad I didn’t wait around for him to decided he wanted to take me to a movie…because if that had been the case, I am fairly sure that I would not have gotten to go see this really amazing movie that is TOTALLY worth seeing.

Of the two movies I saw this weekend District 9 was the BEST!!!

Doctor Who: Planet of the Dead

I finally sat down to watch Doctor Who: Planet of the Dead. I have been waiting for quite a while to watch it; I didn’t want to watch it to quickly…considering I have no idea when the next Doctor Who is going to be coming out, and I don’t get much time to watch TV anyway, so I was saving it. I am a HUGE Doctor Who Fan, always have been and I always will be, this 1:15 long show will not change that!

I love Doctor Who! But one thing about this episode, where is the Phone Box (Why did it not show up into the end…that is crap)?! And I am not so much into the government knowing everything about the Doctor, although they have never met him. I like him being more the man of mystery. AND there is a reason why the gov’t should never have known about The Doctor and there is a reason that the government should not really be trusted (between you and me…I am broke, hardly making it by with a college degree and a few years of experience in my field, yet the government isn’t helping me…I don’t have enough money or power for the government to help me).

But anyway I fade from my point. So this is the best show ever made, this episode is really lacking. So the Doctors companion this time, Christina who is not an innocent girl. At the very beginning of the show she is robbing a museum. She is running from the scene of the crime and to escape detection she gets on to a bus with the Doctor and five other people. The bus ends up falling…well I guess I should say driving, through a worm how and end up on a new planet that looks like one big desert, however that planet wasn’t always a desert. It was once a thriving plant and their bus landed in the middle of the biggest city on the planet, a city the size of Hong Kong. But as I mentioned, it is now just one big desert. At one time that planet was just like earth, with billions of people, oceans, animals, forests, etc. But not anymore. The planet has been overrun by a race of, what looks like Sting Rays made of metal. The Sting Ray creatures have destroyed the planet and turned everyone into sand and they have set their eyes on Earth as their next meal. The Doctor along with Christina help has to figure out how to get everyone back to earth/London safely. Thankfully they find another ship (of a fly race) that crashed not far from their bus. And by mixing parts from the other ship and the bus, the Doctor manages to get everyone home safely.

Christina. Well I do not really like her very much, this show is not called Doctor Who and his companies, she seems to much of a camera hog. Is that even the right term…I don’t think so. I don’t know, she is just figuring out to much of the puzzle and that is the Doctors job. Christina is a bad girl (I do usually like bad girls…heck I am one), she should and would in real life be locked up. She robbed a museum. She…ok, I just don’t like her. I have liked EVERY OTHER companion the Doctor has had, but this time, I was very disappointed in her. Thankfully he didn’t take Christina on as his new companion; I may have had to shop watching this show.

And Malcolm, the scientist that works for the government and is helping the doctor, is odd. For being such a genius…he is a fricking idiot. He should have been much smarter and talented and better, just all around better. He reminded me off Erckel (Don’t know if I even spelt his name right) from Family Matters back in the 80’s. He was horrible. He should have called in someone else for help.


I must admit that waiting a year for a new season of Doctor Who only to end up with ONE episode, with a crap woman playing second to the Doctor, and NO Phone Box, that is how the Doctor travels….well I guess I shouldn’t have waited so long and put so much hype into this show. This is the worst Doctor Who episode I have ever seen. I waited ALL that time for NOTHING… BUT I still love Doctor Who, it will always be one of my favorite shows, but this was a really bad one!

I do love David Tennant…He makes a GREAT doctor!! I hope they keep him! AND they had better not cancel Doctor Who. I will seriously be one pissed off chica! Doctor Who is a Time Lord who can regenerate, NO ENDING THIS SHOW!

AND I want my NEW season of Doctor Who not just one crap episode, but a whole 20+ episodes, one a week for 20+ weeks!

Torchwood: The Children of Earth

I am a huge Sci-Fi buff one of my favorite shows of all time is Doctor Who. So when I saw the preview for Torchwood a few years back, I had to set my Tivo and I loved it. I loved the first 2 seasons, but I was really worried after 2 of the main characters died if they were going to bring it back for a 3 season so when I started seeing the previews for The Children of Earth I started bouncing up and down on my couch and counting down the days.

For anyone who does watch Doctor Who as well, one of the things I really loved was the fact that they brought the two shows together. There was a Doctor Who episode where you see when, why and how Torchwood was founded and in another episode Rose (one of the Doctors Companions) was saved by Captain Jack when Rose and the Doctor ended up in London during WWII.

Anyway…enough about Doctor Who (you can tell that is my favorite and if they stop making them after so many years I will be VERY PISSED!!!!)

This short mini serious of Torchwood was super short. Just 5 days. The 456 have returned to earth (the UK to be exact) after 44 years. On their last visit to the UK, no one but the government and 3 others outside the government knew and the UK handed over 12 children for the cure to a virus that could have wiped out over 1/3 of the WORLD population. Sounds like an easy trade right 12 children for the lives of BILLIONS! They took the children that wouldn’t be missed and they assumed that was the end and the 456 would never return…or at least that was the deal. The UK continued to monitor the airwave in case the 456 did contact them ever again and 44 years later…THEY DID. Now the 456 is back and they re communicating to the world through the children and they are making demands either 10% of all the children on earth or complete extinction for the human population!



(I must admit that children freak me out!!! Children of the corn and now this…I don’t know what is creepier. I guess all the children in the world stopping at the exact same time and speaking in unison is creepier)

The UK government freaks out worried that the 3 others that participated in handing over the first 12 children 44 years ago would speak out and tell the world that the 456 had been there before, so they put out the 2 kill order, but Jack was one of those few and Jack cannot die, he is a fixed spot in time and space. But that does not stop the government trying to take out Jack (the leader of Torchwood) and the rest of them (Gwen Cooper and Ianto Jones). This was not a smart move because Torchwood are the alien experts and taking them out was not the best move.

You really get a chance to learn more about Ianto in this episode. Although he has been there from the beginning, you finally get to really see how he is and really begin to connect with him. You see where he is from and you meet his family. He becomes a much stronger character.

You also really get the chance to see how immortal Jack is and what he can survive, which is really crazy.

Gwen’s husband Rhys plays a much larger role in this mini serious, and a number of new characters are introduced including:

Johnson – who works for the government and she is the one assigned the task of taking out the one person in the world that can’t be taken out (Jack)

Clem – one of the original children who was given to the 456 but managed to escape them

John – the Permanent Secretary to the home office who is in charge of handling the situation with the 456 and put out the order to kill on jack and Torchwood

Lois – a secretary that starts here first day at the home office the same day that 456 make contact. She sees the kill order on Torchwood and begins to wonder why the government is killing the alien expertise when aliens finally showed themselves.

I really loved this mini serious. I stayed up until 4 in the morning last night just so I could see “Day Five”. If you like Sci-Fi, Aliens, Doctor Who or anything in the fantasy world this is a must see. In total it is a little over 6 hrs but worth every second of it. The show keeps you on your feet and wondering what is going to happen next.

Star Trek: The Movie

My boyfriend and I went to see Star Trek this weekend (I have been meaning to post a blog for a few day, I have just been super busy). We had to pick between Terminator and Star Trek, and I must admit, I think we made the right choice. We, of course, decided to go on Memorial Day. I guess that is the day that everyone decides to go the theater because the lines were LONG and the theater ended up being packed. We got there a little early so managed to get good seats



Now I don’t care who you are, there are good seats and bad seats in a theater and they can really make or break the movie!

Now I was not the biggest Star Trek fan growing up, I was more into Marvel, but I use to watch Star Trek when it was on, and it has been on for years, so I have seen a number of shows. I personally loved the movie. My boyfriend also really liked it (and I bet he is glad he didn’t watch it on his computer like he had threatened to do). The fact that we both really liked it was kinda different. Usually one of us likes a movie more then another. There have been only a few movies that we BOTH really enjoyed!

One thing I have to say is that the CGI in Star Trek was amazing! They did a really great job with it. I am amazed how far that stuff has come over the years. In Wolverine even, at times the claws just looked to fake and blah, but with Star Trek, it was like they put their heart into creating some of this stuff! I was amazed and just sat back and admired their work

I also loved the characters they picked to play in the movie:
They picked this unknown guy to play James Kirk. Some guy named Chris Pine. I had never heard of him or seen him before. He had done a few TV episodes and what not, but nothing big. Well talk about a break out movie. I think he did a good job. Maybe in real life he is like the character he played (cocky, confident and kind of a dog), but if not, he did a good job. I guess I would like to see him in some more things before I call him a good actor.

Zachary Quinto played Spock. Now I sat during the WHOLE movie looking at him going “Where the heck do I know him from?” I kept asking my boyfriend, who I am sure eventually got frustrated with me. It was driving me crazy, I couldn't figure it out. When we left the theater I broke down and looked him up on IMDB (Love that site). He plays Syler on Heroes. I love that show. I was upset with myself for not recognizing him. It had to have been the hair and pointy ears. (just a side note. I have ALWAYS wanted elf ears, don’t know why. I just love the idea of pointy ears. NOT over the top ones, just cute little ones :o)…) I think Zachary did a very good job playing Spock, considering he plays an INSANE serial killer in Heroes, it was a change for him.

I love that Leonard Nimoy also played Spock, old Spock, you kinda have to see the movie to get how the heck there are two Spocks, but it makes since and stuff so it is all good.

Karl Urban played Bones the doctor. I am starting to recognize him in a bunch of movies. He has been in Doom (which has grown on me over the years), Lord of the Rings, and The Chronicles of Riddick. He is growing on me and he did a great job in this movie. He played the part well!


AND of course my VERY favorite. Simon Pegg. You may know this amazing actors from such movies as (my personal favorite) Shaun of the Dead (he plays Shaun), Hot Fuzz, and Run Fat Boy Run!! All of them very funny movies. Simon plays Montgomery Scotty and he does a very good job. He is funny and well he has the British accent and a thick one so that is just awesome!!! If you have yet to see Shaun of the Dead, I recommend it. I love Zombie movies and this is like really the BEST of all time!!

The last actor I want to talk about is John Cho. He plays Sulu in the movie. Now I know him from Harold & Kumar. He is the one always holding his computer scared of everything. Well in the movie they ask, “who knows hand to hand combat” and he says “I do sir” Well that is just funny to me, because all is see is the shy, innocent boy from Harold & Kumar!! He did kick some major ass in the movie though

Anywho, this movie takes place in the beginning of Kirk’s life (when he is like 14 in Iowa), you get to see him and Spock as a child, and what Spock had to deal with being half human half Vulcan. Spock excels in his young life and goes off to joins the Starfleet Academy instead of accepting his entry into the Vulcan Science Academy. This is unheard of among the Vulcan. You see Kirk older (in his 20’s in Iowa) get into a bar fight with some of the Starfleet students. Captain Pike comes and talks to him, and suggests he join the Fleet. He mentions what had happened to Kirk’s father and Kirk takes him up on it, mostly out of pride. This is also where you meet Bones. So throughout the movie you follow Kirk and Spock, and how even though they are so different they grow to become talented men, different, but yet working together towards victory. The villain of this movie is Nero, who has come from the future looking for Spock. Nero is also the reason that Kirk never meet his father, it was he who tricked and then killed him 25 years earlier (or so I think). Kirk meets up with Scotty about 2/3 through the movie. I was waiting for him the whole time. Scotty saves Kirks ass and gets him back aboard the USS Enterprise. The movie has a bunch of twists and turns, and it is really a great one to see. I don’t want to say any more about the movie, because I don’t want to give it away, but this may truly be the best movie of the year (so far). I really don’t know if they can top it! So for my stars….I would say at least a 9 out of 10! (It would have gotten all 10 if just one zombie would have popped out for lets say 2 seconds and then gone away, but it didn't so poop)

Now I don’t know how the hard core Trekkie fans felt about the movie, but everyone that I know loved it. I would be interested in knowing how the Trekkie fans felt about the movie, because I KNOW how picky I can be about marvel movie even if they are really good, so yah, I would like to know if they liked it or not.

Also Terminator had better be pretty good to keep up with this kick ass movie, I am expecting good things from them!! That is the next one on my list.
