I have been "dog-sitting" for over a week now and it makes me want a dog of my own. Not one of those little purse dogs, but a medium size dog. Something that need me. I live alone, so having something to walk with every night and guard me while I sleep would be great. Not to mention it would be nice to have one to keep me company in the evenings while I sit along reading a book or watching TV.
So since I have been watching to dog, I realized that:
A) Dogs are needy - she wants to be pet all the time, making it hard to read and type
B) Dogs are messy - I have to pick up after her dirty busy...and she smells when she gets wet
C) Dogs are expensive - or maybe that is just me buying her all those treats :-)
But that doesn't make me NOT want one. I get up every morning and take her for a short walk so she can do her dirty business and since I work for HOURS every day, I have to come home sometimes and walk her in the afternoon (if my boyfriend can't) and of course as soon as I get home...she HAS to go out.
But she does do the cutest thing. She rolls onto her back, throws her feet/or should I say paws up into the air and does the cutest little dance thing. I find it amusing and so cute.
Now I just have to decide if I can really afford one on my cheap ass pay, and if I have the time for one, because working full time and going to night classes may not be most conducive situation for having a pet...but they are so cute. So it is up in the air and I have to think about it. Maybe in a few months, but I am for sure not lonely with her cute butt around!!
