Saga of Seven Suns Book 2: A Forest of Stars
I just finished reading 2 books this weekend. One was for work (The Ultimate Sales Machine) and the other was the Saga of Seven Suns Book 2 - A Forest of Stars. A Forest of Stars start Five years after the war started. The Hydrogues maintain absolute control over the galaxy's gas giant planets.
Estarra the youngest daughter of the royal family on Theroc marries King Peter. At first she does not want to marry Peter and leave Theroc, but with her sister, Sarein, persuasion she does. Sarein is still in a relationship with Basil Wenscelas but begins to fear for her sisters life after Basil becomes upset with King Peter. Estarra, joins forces with her husband against Chairman Wenscelas when she hears the truth of what happened to Peter and how he became King. Wenscelas is no longer pleased with Peters actions when Peter stops the building of soldier compys (military robots) because he believes that the technology for these robots provided by the Klikiss robots is not a save move.
The Klikiss robots are in fact working against the Ildirans and Humans and long ago joined forces with the Hydrogues.
The Ildirans have secretly been abducting and breeding humans since to two species meet years ago in a consentration camp on Dobro. The Ildirans, after inviting the green priests to come to Ildira from Theroc (the plant of trees) and read the saga of the seven sun kill one of the green priests Otema and take Nira Khali as prisonor. In the first book Nira had begun a relationship with Prime Designate Jorah (who is next in line to take over Ildira when his father dies). Udru'h (Jora'hs borther) takes Nira to Dobro and locks her up in the breeding camp. While in this camp, Nira gives birth to Osira'h, who is Jora'hs child. Udru'h takes Osira'h because of her green priest abilities, from Nira and never tells Jora'h of the childs existence and raisers her within the palace. After Jora'h's ascension to Mage-Imperator and conviction to find and free Nira, the green priest was moved by Udru'h out of the breeder camps and to an island on the other side of the planet. However, shortly before this happened, Nira managed to get in contact with Osira'h and relate the truth of the experiments of Dobro.
Tasia Tamblyn has worked her way up in The Tarran Hansiatic League The military moves to communicate with the Hydrogues and send Tasia's lover, Robb Brindle down into one of the gas planets where he is murdered. The League decdice to move against Hydro on their main planet,Osquivel, where the Roamers are mining gas. Because of her ties and dedication to the Roamers, Tasia sends her compy DD to warn the Roamer Speaker, Peroni. Thanks to Tasia's warning the Roamers are able to hide themselves from the League, but DD is intersepted on his way back to Tasia by Chairman Wenscelas.
Jess Tamblyn leaves to go into solitude so that his love Speaker Peroni can marry Reynald Theron who is king of Theroc so that a alliance can be built between the Roamers and Theroc. While alone Jess connects to these water particles in his small craft, which are in fact the ancient water-entity known as Wental. Jess aids the Wentals in rejuvenating the Wentals so that the Wentals can fight the Hydrogues. Unfortunately, Jess is attacked by a Hydrogue warglobe and Jess has to swallow the Wentals to keep them hidden and safe.
The Hydrogue have gone from planet to planet looking for the great forest of Theroc. They finally find it and destroy a large portion of Theroc, although the trees do manage to fight back and destroy some of the warglobes it is not enough.
The war rages on and it seems that the Humans and Ildiran are powerless against the Hydrogue.
I have to start reading book 3 as soon as I get it because this story just keeps getting better and better.
